Herbal Sleep Honey
Here’s a super simple way to weave some sleepy herbs into your night time routine. This recipe uses Chamomile and Rose Petals to make an electuary, but you can really use any herbs that help to calm the nervous system. Some other great herbs to use are Hops, Mulungu, Passionflower or Lavender.
How to enjoy: The best way is just straight off the spoon: 1-2 teaspoons around 30 minutes before bedtime. The simple sugars in honey help to restore glycogen stores in the body which supports the production of melatonin (the sleep hormone) and then the sleepy herbs have their sedative effects. It can certainly also be added to warm water to make a herbal/honey tea or even to some warmed milk and enjoyed that way.
