In celebration of Breast Cancer Awareness Month (or Breast Care Awareness Month as we like to call it), we are highlighting one of our dear friends and her work towards greater breast health for all.
Introducing our very own Breast Health HERO – Sue McKenna (Lovingly known as Sanne to the Happy Herb crew, but we’ll call her Sue here to keep it simple!). Sue has been part of the Happy Herb Team for 12 years! Back in 2012, she started having breast health issues, and began a healing journey that led to the creation of Happy Breast Balm & the Breast Care Routine.
When Sue discovered a lump on her breast, she set out on a journey to find natural ways to heal herself. Unfortunately, she also discovered that there was not much available in the way of breast care information! So, Sue did her own extensive research into what she could do to assist her body to heal.
Sue ended up finding 3 main things that she felt really helped her on her healing journey, and improved her own breast health as well as her mental wellbeing. This is how she developed Happy Breast Balm and the Ultimate Breast Care Routine, with the intention to help and inspire other women to ‘take the health of their breasts into their own hands’!
What is the Ultimate Breast Care Routine?
- Dry skin brushing before showering, to stimulate the lymphatic system, clear and detox the many lymph vessels within our breast tissue
- Massaging your breasts after showering with Happy Breast Balm to improve blood flow and nourish them with the balm.
- Affirming your health, wellbeing, and gratitude for life!
Sue put all these 3 things into the Happy Breast Care Kit to make it super easy for other women to take care of their own breast health. (What a champion!)
We are incredibly proud of Sue for her heart-filled quest to help other women. She is such a positive and vibrant person to have on our crew. We have watched her great devotion and bravery throughout her healing journey and creation of her business. With such pure intention and a heart of gold, she has been successful in helping so many women bring breast care into their daily lives.
Thank you Sue for all you have brought to this world and our Happy Herb family. We love you so much!

Really spend a moment to give thanks for your healthy body and all the work it does, remind yourself how wonderful you are and how grateful you are for the gift of life. Energy flows where attention goes.
If you wish, you might like to read this beautiful massage mantra:
Use your intuition, massage in circles, gentle kneed and stroke the breasts, using varying amounts of mild to moderate pressure. Stroke toward the armpit, apply gentle lifting and compressive movements, continue until the balm is absorbed. Remember, you are taking your breasts’ health into your own hands!
Thanks to Sue McKenna, from Happy Breast Balm, for creating this beautiful self-care routine, and for being such a champion for breast health & breast awareness. We love you and we love your products. Keep up the good work!
